primera noticia recibida u oída sobre tal asunto… Convénzase, querido señor, que tales procedimientos ilegales y parciales, pueden afectar solamente en el momento, hasta que se imponga la verdad de la razón y el triunfo de la justicia, pues muy rara vez deja la inocencia de subir al carro triunfal.
Viéndome obligado a dejar este continente para proseguir mi viaje antes de su llegada aquí, he dejado todos los papeles que recibí de V., relativos a nuestras cuentas, a nuestro común amigo el señor Duer, quien me hará el honor de ajustar con V. cualquier pago hecho por él o por su agente, lo que me será satisfactorio. Nunca recibí un solo chelín de su cuenta, tampoco me ofreció nadie los cumplimientos y la consideración de sus cartas… V. sabe, mi querido amigo, a qué circunstancias me veo reducido por la suerte, aunque no estoy desprovisto de medios.
