It is of the greatest importance to men to know themselves aright, it concerns us in the highest degree to consider the intent, relation, and Dignity we bear in the Creation of God. In the Scriptures we find the Psalmist addresing himself to his great Maker after this manners; "I will praise the for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, Marvellous are thy works and that my Soul knoweth right well. Ps: 139, 14 and Elsewere Ps: 8th. he says what is man, that thou art mindful of him, and the son of man that thou visitest him: for thou hast made him a little lower than the Angels, and has crowned him with Glory and honours… here was speaking to the Creator from a divinely inspired heart, and Experimental knowledge and feeling. It was speaking in that knowledge God had given of himsself, and revealed by his divine Spirit in the heart, and mind of his regenerated renewed & Enlightned Children; for 'tis such only that have the saving knowledge of time, As the Apostles Says Román 1st. 19th. what is known of God is manifested in man. This divine Communication the Experimental and saving knowledge of and from God; and the true and unnerring way of attaining to it, I say, is the great and most important concern of all human beings. For,
"Many Employ themselves about the Philosopher Stone of human sciences, when Christs appearence in men, the foundation of true religeon, whereby they attain to the knowledge of God, is overseen and neglected: they have made the study of the Former, a key necessary to unfold unveil the latter; when having our hearts & heads too full therewith and too dependent thereon, is the only means to hide it from us. Thus we place the Servant in the Son's seat, and the handmaid in the room of the Mistress".

Es de la mayor importancia que los hombres se conozcan bien a sí mismos. A todos nos concierne considerar en alto grado la intención, relación y dignidad que sentimos por la creación de Dios… En las escrituras vemos que el Salmista se dirige al Sumo Hacedor de la manera siguiente: "Te alabaré siempre porque estoy hecho de modo temeroso y maravilloso. Maravillosas son tus obras que mi alma conoce bien". En los salmos 139, 14 y en otra parte, en el salmo 8, dice: "que es el hombre del cual tú te has preocupado, a quien enviaste el hijo del hombre, pues tú lo hiciste un poco menor que los ángeles y lo coronaste con gloria y honores…". Aquí hablaba al Creador con un corazón inspirado divinamente y con conocimiento y sentimiento basados en la experiencia. Hablaba con el conocimiento que Dios le había dado de sí mismo y que fue revelado por su espíritu divino en el corazón y en la mente de sus criaturas renovadas, regeneradas e iluminadas, pues sólo ellas tienen el conocimiento de la salvación, como dicen los apóstoles —Romanos 1 y 19— lo que es conocido de Dios se manifiesta en el hombre. Esta comunicación divina y el conocimiento experimental y salvador de, y para Dios, y la verdadera e inequívoca manera de alcanzarlo, digo, es lo que más importa a todos los seres humanos, puesto que,
"muchos se ocupan del filósofo Stone y de sus ciencias humanas, mientras que la aparición de Cristo a los hombres, los fundamentos de la verdadera religión por medio de la cual alcanzan el conocimiento de Dios, son descuidados y olvidados; hacen del estudio de aquellas una llave necesaria para descubrir esto, y así, llenando nuestros cerebros y corazones con aquellas y dependiendo de ellas, hallamos la única manera de esconderlo de nosotros. Colocamos así al criado en el sitial del Hijo y a la criada en el cuarto de la Señora".
