It is at all times, my dear Friend, a painfull and pleasing Task to address you:—painfull—because I cannot express half I wish to say;—pleasing—as it serves to testify the very respectful Esteem in which I have the honor to hold you:—I shall reserve it however for the next conveyance; and contení myself on this occasion with saying 7 am happy; which I have the strongest assurance that you will receive with pleasure from the friendily efforts you have frequently made to effect it,. When I thought mijself miserable. My best Compliments to Dr. Parcell and his agreable family.—I pray you to give me a line by the return of this vessel, and let me know your intended time of departure.— I am in haste at present, and must only declare I am with the highest sentiments of regard,

Es siempre mi querido amigo, un placer y una pena dirigirme a V. Penoso, porque nunca llego a expresar la mitad de lo que quisiera decir; placentero, porque sirve para ratificar la gran estima que tengo el honor de sentir hacia V. Reservaré esto sin embargo para la próxima ocasión y me contentaré en ésta con decirle que soy feliz. Estoy seguro será para V. una alegría saberlo, dado los amistosos esfuerzos que V. hizo para lograrlo, sobre todo en los momentos en que me sentía desdichado. Mis mejores cumplimientos al Dr. Purcell y a su agradable familia. Le ruego me envíe unas líneas con el regreso de este barco y me informe sobre el momento de su salida. Tengo prisa y sólo llego a manifestarle mis más altos sentimientos de consideración.
