Dear Sir,
That Politeness which you have shewn to ColO Blount & Mr. Nash, while in Philadelphia, as acquaintances of mine, induces me to request the favor of your attentions to the Bearer, Don Miranda, a Spanish gentleman, and a Colonel in that Service, whom I have no doubt, You will rank among the most agreable of those foreigners, with whom you have been acquainted, not only from his manners, but his very entertaining conversation.—He is on his travels thro' America, appears to be a Person of the most liberal Sentiments, and I feel almost convinced, you will be happy in this introduction to you.
Any civilities he may receive from you, will be considered as additional obligations, to those you have already conf erred,

La cortesía que V. ha demostrado hacia el coronel Blount y el señor Nash, durante su estancia en Filadelfia, en calidad de conocidos míos, me animan a pedirle el favor de que atienda al portador de la presente, Don Miranda, caballero y coronel español. No pongo en duda que V. lo calificará como el extranjero más agradable que haya conocido, no sólo por sus modales, sino también por su muy entretenida conversación. Está viajando por América, parece ser una persona de sentimientos muy liberales y estoy convencido que V. quedará contento con esta presentación. Cualquier cortesía que tenga V. hacia él, quedará sumada a todos los favores que ha otorgado V., señor, a su más obediente y humilde servidor.
